"For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:14-21, NIV) |
"Because of Christ, I am new creature! I used to be one of the greatest sinners: pride, rebellion, multiple abortions, fornication, dabbled in lesbianism, adultery, lying, stealing, drugs. You get the picture. But, God saved me by his grace through faith, even the faith He gave me. God translated me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into the kingdom of Jesus, the Son he loves, while I was still in my transgressions. He did this so that I will no longer dabble in sin, but live in righteousness according to his Kingdom principles by the power of the Holy Ghost in me. This is God’s free gift that no good works could ever accomplish. I now live free in Christ, making disciples for him. Music is one of the gifts God gave me to fulfill this ministry of reconciliation given to all in Christ."
Exalt Adonai is the name of Kim's ministry. “Adonai” means “Lord” in Hebrew. Yeshua (Jesus) is Lord! She is a songwriter, producer, and recording artist. Kim serves as the Deacon of the Outreach Ministry, coordinating and working alongside several ministries, and is a Worship Leader at the Triumphant Church (TTC), Springfield, VA. She and her husband Michael, drummer for the Music Ministry and a Community Outreach Leader at TTC, have two wonderful daughters Kristine and Kamille. They live in Bowie, MD. Her family is part of the plan Yahweh (God) has for her life.
Music is also an integral part of Yahweh’s plan for her. She’s been singing since she was in diapers. Her father was a professional jazz pianist. Before receiving the revelation of her calling in Christ, she gigged with bands singing funk, R&B, rap, urban contemporary, and jazz locally and abroad. She also starred in off-Broadway musicals. The music was not so much the issue, but the lyrics were. They were words of sin that led to death, not words of life that lead to Christ. Nonetheless, this fusion of diverse genres has given Kim a new and different sound in contemporary Christian music. (Although her music does not sound like what the music industry calls “gospel,” she considers her music to be gospel, because that’s what it’s about.)
Yahweh didn’t change her style, but, he did alter the purpose for which she sings, making it new and holy. It’s a new purpose, because Kim now uses music to share the gospel that Christ died for our sins, was buried and raised by God on the third day so that we could be the children of God with the life of Christ living through us! Creation is waiting to be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. It’s a holy purpose, because Yahweh set Kim apart as a vessel to deliver this good news. No greater blessing than to be chosen by God in Christ for this purpose and to co-labor with him in it.
People say that you can hear the cry of the Father to the lost in Kim’s voice. This is because the Father wants all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth. Yeshua is the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except by him. So Christ beckons all who are weary, burdened, all who are tired of religion, to come to him, take his easy yoke and light burden, and learn from him. He is gentle and humble. Not only will Yeshua give you rest, but he will be your rest! Apart from Christ, we can do nothing, nor could we even exist. He is our Creator. Yeshua is the source of all that we need to live a life pleasing to God.
Kim wants people to know that if we love, it is because Yahweh loved us first even when we are sinners. His love is unconditional. He is looking for true worshipers to worship Him in spirit and in truth. She wants people to know that Jesus is not a religion, but that He is Savior, Lord of lords, and King of kings! In Christ, we have the redemption through his blood and the forgiveness of sins. His kingdom shall not be destroyed and will not pass way. She views this life as the means to worship Adonai and to share Christ with anyone, anywhere as the Holy Spirit in her leads. Adonai has no respect of persons.
She’s been blessed to work with producer Donnie McLaurin and to record with musicians David Scott, Steve Ebhodaghe, Joshua Patani, Solomon Ekwukome and her husband Michael, and recording artists Angela Bryant-Brown, Lisa Glover and rapper Kwame North, and to co-write a song with Rev. Dr. LeRoy Thompson, Senior Pastor at TTC. She’s also sung at nationally recognized conventions. The video to her single “Adonai” was recently released, featuring Christalyn Solomon on dance. Kim is working on new tracks which she hopes to release in the summer of 2011.
At Matthew 25:21, Yeshua said “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Kim desires that He say this to her each and every moment of her life. Yeshua is the pioneer and perfector of her faith. He is the model of a good and faithful servant to the glory of the Father unto death. She’s not there yet, but this is her desire. God will finish the work that He began in her.
Adonai desires that you exalt Him! He alone is worthy to be praised! |
